During fifty-nine years of living in the Rosedale Neighborhood, my family has experienced many changes in this vicinity. From the year 1946 to 2005, we have watched a tremendous expansion from 38th street to 49th. That was about the limits of this community of unpaved streets, and many blocks of vacant lots, few business establishments, and a very quiet atmosphere. What a tremendous change has transpired and the growth has been phenomenal. There has always been a great spirit of comradery and support for each other among the community. Today this is exhibited in the consideration of others through the exchange of ideas, helpful hints and news reports via the Internet exchange. The Leaders of The Rosedale Neighborhood Association maintain many helpful programs through their planning and implementation of many events and strategies of maintaining this atmosphere of care for the wellbeing of all of the citizens and their properties and lives.
Many old Friends and Neighbors have contributed to this area being what it is today for all of us who remain. They are gone on in body, but the same great spirit permeates the area today when we have opportunities to welcome new neighbors and friends.
Yeah Rosedale!! You have been an inspiration for our family and continue to nourish and challenge young families and those of us who have retired and feel safe and comfortable as residents.
