Greetings Rosedale Neighbors!

My name is Joseph O'Hara and I live down the road in Allandale. I am 13 years old and will be in 8th grade at Kealing Junior High next year. I am also a Life Scout with Troop 410, and the recent Senior Patrol Leader for the troop.

I am ready to start planning and fundraising for my Eagle Scout project. Since my sister and I have been on the Ramsey Redfish summer swim team for the past five summers, I decided I wanted to give something back to Ramsey Pool for so many fun summers of swimming. My hope is that many Rosedale residents and visitors of all ages will enjoy the pool even more with some new comfortable benches and tables.

For my Eagle Project, I would like to work with the Rosedale community and my troop, family and friends to install two to four, 8' benches and two, 8' picnic tables around the perimeter of the Ramsey Pool area. If funds permit, I would also like to install some xeriscape beds around the entrance to the pool. The benches and tables will be very high quality plastic coated expanded steel. I presented my project plan to the Rosedale Neighborhood Association meeting on Monday, June 16th at the Yarborough Library. I received a lot of support from the people attending the meeting. I will begin fundraising for this project at the 4th of July Carnival and continue through the upcoming school year. My goal is to raise at least $2,200 by February 1, 2004 and install the benches and tables and landscaping during May '04, before the pool opens for the summer. Mark your calendars, I will have a homemade tamale fundraiser in November. I will be taking prepaid orders for venison/pork and bean/cheese tamales at $7/dozen, to be delivered to your home between December 8-15, 2003.
